Membership Details.
Membership to join the East Midlands Railway Photographic Society (EMRPS) costs £6 for Adults and £4 for juniors, these costs are to cover the quarterly newsletter magazine (3 months) this could change in frequency if the society feels that it would be worth doing, and if it is not to time consuming. With joining the society you receive the above newsletter which is called "FULL SUN" this is sent out first class post, and in the newsletter magazine are details of forth coming events, both main line and preserved, forth coming society meetings/slide shows, photographic product reviews e.g. films/equipment/cameras/digital, railway photographic locations, members photographs, and event reviews e.g. preserved steam/diesel gala, photographic charter.
The EMRPS also holds society meetings/slide shows over the winter period, and possibly throughout the year, depending on the weather over the summer and if the members feel it is worth continuing throughout the year. Photographic competitions may be organized some months with external judges for something a little bit different with some kind of prize on offer. Members can get into the slide shows for £1 and the cost for non-members is £2, all are welcome, and drinks and light refreshments are available from the WMC bar. Slide shows are held at the working men's club Sileby, it is located on the corner of King Street and Barrow Road (near to Sileby railway station). Their are about 15-20 members at present, but this is growing, especially since the Night photographic charter at the Great Central Railway Loughborough on January 19th 2001, using Peak D123 and class 20 D8098. More of these charters are in the societies minds, for future events.
